Abstract

Halal: Permissible or non-prohibited is that which is permitted by Islamic law.

Haram: That which is strictly prohibited by the Shariah .it deserves punishment in the life hereafter.

In this article, we have made attempts to study and analysis the lawful and unlawful foods in the light of Islamic medical law with special focus on it’s medical benefits and determents.  We have strived to understand that lawful and lawful foods strictly according to the Divine commands elaborated in the Qur’an and Hadith and the opinion of Islamic jurists belonging to different school of thought over the ages. We have lawful and unlawful foods and drinks have been explained in connection with medical effects on human body. Various foods and drinks have been categorized in Quranic way of instructions. Comments and references from various standard works have also been selected as authentic proofs. More ever, every category has been elaborated comprehensively with special attention on septic aspects.
