Abstract

The Role of  Arabic Poetry in Establishing ethical and Faith-Based Values

This research discusses the role of Arabic poetry in establishing the ethical and faith-based values, which are appealed in poetry. It is confirmed there is influence of poetry on souls, it has become an essential tool for  gradually but firmly establishing  values in individuals, making it a point of attention and fascination for scholars and thinkers. poets, and intellectuals  have emphasized these values, acknowledging their critical role in framing individuals and society.

As many fields of knowledge directly focus  on instilling ethical values in society, Arabic poetry also targets  to serve humanity. It talks about various issues that participate in reinforcing ethical and faith-based values in people's hearts,  as courage, justice, benevolence, honesty, sincerity, loyalty, modesty, and compassion.Faith-based values contain beliefs and principles like monotheism, love of prophet Muhammad (PBUH ), trust in God, fear of God, and sincerity in actions. For that reason, poets since ancient times have used their poetry as a tool for guidance, education, and moral direction, it confirmed the educational and artistic role of poetry in society.

This study adopts a descriptive and analytical approach, based on reading poetic texts from different time periods. The study aims to highlight the role of poetry in guidance, morality, and education, and its lasting role in facing the moral challenges of the contemporary world.
