Abstract

The Qur‘ān is the last and ultimate book of guidance. It contains pearls of knowledge and principles. Tafsīr of the Qur‘ān consists of explaining the difficult words and phrases, the purpose of revelation and the commands relating to the compulsory, obligatory, permissible and forbidden things, fundamental beliefs. With the significance of the Arabic dictionary, the lexical commentary method emerged. Like other methodologies, the lexical method of Tafsīr also became formal. This commentary style had a significant impact on Urdu commentary literature. A historic name among them is Mr. Chaudhry Ghulām Aḥmad Parvez. This research seeks to uncover the profound layers of meaning embedded in the Qurān, shedding light on the intricacies of the divine message. In applying this method to “Maṭālib-ul-Furqān,”this study aims to elucidate how Ghulām Pervaiz employed lexical analysis to provide a deeper understanding of the Quranic verses and their implications. This research is highly significant for those who have an interest in Quranic Sciences. The article marks and points out the incorrect description of the fundamentals of Islam which were made based on dictionary meanings. The thorough research of the paper is highly significant for those who have an interest in Quranic Sciences.
