Abstract

                 Literature plays an important role: either in the form of poetry or prose. Those who deal with it; are no doubt; serving a lot for the society. In each and every society, there are different types of traditions and cultures, according to which they live. No doubt in it that the literature depicts the way of life and culture of any nation. There are the people who keep an eye on the writer, authors and poets and guide them towards the right path of the literature. They are known as “critics”. It is well known that there are different types of criticism; and the cultural criticism is one of these types. For the article I have chosen a very well known Saudian Critic “Abdullah Al- Ghathami”. The topic of discussion is; “Views of Abdullah Al- Ghathami about cultural criticism”. I have divided the topic in three sections: The first section is consisted on the biography of Abdullah Al- Ghathami. The second section is about the critical cultural environment in which Ghathami lives and third and last is about his views about cultural criticism followed by conclusion and bibliography.
