The New Atheism is a radical movement of 21st century. New Atheism seems as an extension of scientific atheism. New Atheists (Such as Victor, J Stenger and Richard Dawkins) advocates the study of God as a scientific hypothesis. Victor John Stenger is a prominent exponent of new atheism. “The New Atheism: Taking a Stand for Science and Religion” is a new entry in “New atheism” literature. Stenger asserts that religion is incomprehensible and faith should not be treated with respect. He holds that science shows that God does not exist. The main tenant described by Stenger is that, if God exists, some evidence for his existence should be detectable by scientific means. He attempted to scientifically analyze the claims made by theologians for the existence of God and ultimately concludes that the origin of Universe and life can be understood by completely ignoring concept of God. Moreover, he asserts that an observable God should be detectable. He goes on to refute cosmological design and miracles and like naturalistic interpretation of admitted supernatural phenomenon. His rationality coupled with scientific naturalism lead him to deny religion. Using content analysis of selected work in the book “The New Atheism: Taking a Stand for Science and Religion”, main views about science and reason are commented in the light of Islamic Thought.
