A Critical Analysis of Marriage Issues in Tafseer Maariful Quran (Mufti Muhammad Shafi)

Abstract

Islam is a complete and multidisciplined religion. It not only consists of beliefs about God, Afterlife and vice-versa but it has commands and guidelines for every aspect of human life. It encircles human life in all of it natural affairs by divine guidelines. Islam gives clear instructions about marriage life of a person. Many Islamic scholars, mufassirs and muhaddis attempted to shed light on the family section of Islamic guidelines. In this article, we have tried to compile the scholarly commentary and explanation of Quranic verses by Mufti Muhammad Shafi in his book Maariful Quran. This article explores the depth of wisdom behind Islamic commands and the dimensions of divine revealations. Our topic is limited to the family issues and guidelines about these. In this article we’ve discussed Islamic rulings such as marirage guidelines and rules, rules of breastfeeding, rules of mahr(dowry), rules about temporary marriage, rules about prohibited relatives, and rules about polygamy.

In summary, Islamic laws and rules are very comprehensive and are compatible for every place of earth and every time of human existence. Islamic rulings are the radiant ways of life by following whom we can avoid evil traditions.
