Abstract

The Holy Qur'an is a uniquely divine book that has the distinction of universality and a basic source of Islam, so Allah Almighty has taken the responsibility of its protection. The Companions of the Holy Prophet learned the Qur'anic Recitation science and style directly from the Holy Prophet. They used to write the text of the Holy Qur'an from him and save it in a box kept inside the Prophet's Mosque. They used to recite according to the convenience of their linguistic accent. In the time of the Holy Prophet, the literature related to the Qur'anic Recitation Science was not regularly compiled. The followers learned the Qur'anic Recitation Science from the Companions of the Holly Prophet. During the caliphate of Hazrat Usman, the work of Qur'anic Recitation Science was of a fundamental nature. Due to the hard work of the Muslims, the Qur'anic Recitation Science became a permanent discipline of studies and learning. In the early times of Muslim History, books on Qur'anic Recitation Science were written regularly. These books are the main source of research. Despite this historical evidence, a fanatical section believes that Muslims have not done much in the field of the Qur'anic Recitation science. In this background, there is a need to explain the Qur'anic Recitation science during the initial six centuries of the Muslim History in order to eliminate this improper impression. To fulfil this scholarly requirement, this research article has been presented.
